Vegan Avocado Smoothie | Avocado Milkshake | Summer Cooler recipe

Avocado is considered as Nature's Superfood and has amazing health benefits including a healthier heart, better skin and also aids in weight loss and treating health problems like diabetes and arthritis.Though it has a high fat content, the calories are actually nutrient-dense calories, made up of monounsaturated fats and Omega-3. Due to its creamy texture, Avocados can be replaced in place of butter in many baking recipes and can be just spread on butter for a quick and healthy breakfast. I had earlier used Avocado to prepare a Guacamole and add it in my Garden Salad. We also enjoy this Avocado milkshake often for a fulfilling breakfast. For a vegan version, I prepared this with Almond milk and it tasted absolutely heavenly!

Preparation time : 5mins
Serves : 3 tall glasses

Ingredients:

Ripe Avocado - 1, peeled and pitted
Cold almond milk / Any vegan milk - 3cups
Sugar / Honey - 2-3tblsp (adjust to taste)
Ice cubes - As needed

Method:

1.  To cut the avocado, run a knife around, slicing it top to bottom and back to the top. Gently twist to separate the two halves of the fruit, exposing the flesh and the seed. Slide the knife around the seed and it pops out. Now, cut the avocado into cubes.

2.  Combine all the ingredients in a blender and run on high, until smooth and creamy. Adding ice while blending helps with the lovely texture of the smoothie. Serve in tall glasses.
