This space had been silent for a year now due to some personal commitments and Iam now back for good. It was a hard time for me to stay away from blogging which I was passionate about. With my hubby and girls' support and encouragement, I could now get back on my toes. And it is very much exciting and motivating to start with a Mega Blogging Marathon which will last for this month of Sep. Blogging Marathon is the brain child of Srivalli who comes up with innovative themes every month. This month, we, a bunch of blogger friends will be coming up with an array of yummy recipes on all days with only Sundays as holidays. Come, join me for a Cooking Carnival at IndianVegKitchen. I have picked up Indian Veg Diet Recipes as my theme with Sub-themes for each week.
Week 1 - Weight loss Breakfast Smoothies
Week 2 - Low-calorie Indian Veg Recipes
Week 3 - Healthy Snacks
Week 4 - High-protein Indian Veg Recipes
Week 5 - Diabetic-friendly Indian Recipes
Though I would love to choose Eggless baking as my theme, I was really concerned about the calories. Iam trying to stick to a healthy diet regime that would help with some weight shedding. I don't want to give myself a chance to get tempted and so I chose a theme which goes well with my current lifestyle. Am glad about my choice as Iam constantly getting enlightened with knowledge on Healthy Recipes for a Healthy living.
This Banana Greens Breakfast Smoothie recipe is from a friend who has been taking such healthy, nutritious Smoothies for breakfast for sometime and has benefited a lot in terms of overall health and weight loss. Today's recipe features mint, coriander,Palak greens which are all rich in antioxidants and also helps with digestion. Cinnamon and lemon is one of the best weight loss combo. Amla / Goosebery is a simple yet highly nutritious fruit. It slows down the ageing process, purifies blood and boosts immunity, to name a few. Just one Amla a day does wonders to the body. The fruit which is added gives body and texture to the Smoothie. Coming to the taste, I would not say that this Greens Smoothie is lip-smacking but neither would I say it is unbearable. It has the fresh flavours from the greens and a mild spiciness. You could play around with different fruits or add a veggie of your choice.
