For the second day of this week, I have yet another Herbal Breakfast Smoothie recipe which is loaded with an array of health benefits from the herbs used. Tulsi, a variety of Basil is a great immunity booster and Betal leaf is known for its digesitive power and healing and is extensively used in Ayurveda. Curry leaves and the Greens are great sources of Iron. I have used Papaya in this Smoothie. You could swap any of your favourite fruit. Since Iam not used to Herbal drinks, I found it little hard to take in the taste. But, I felt this Herbal Smoothie light and refreshing and have incorporated it into my diet. Drinking Smoothies after a good workout and a hot shower feels great. Try this and lemme know how you liked it.
Ingredients:
Betel Leaves - 2, small ones
Tulasi / Basil leaves - A fistful
Curry leaves leaves - A sprig
Any Greens / Keerai variety - A fistful
Fruit of your choice - 1 (I have used 1 cup of Papaya)
Cinnamon powder - 1tsp
Honey - 2tblsp
Method:-
Add in all the ingredients in a blender with a cup of water. Run for about 2-3mins until blended smooth. Enjoy!!

ReplyDeleteSmoothie looks great but I doubt if I'll dare to make it. Once I had used betel leaves in one of my recipe, the flavor was so overpowering that it was just a fiasco. That day onward I never dared to use it.
ReplyDeleteThough i love smoothies of all sorts, green smoothie is something i haven't tried, i should say i dont have the guts to try!!! Keerai cooked is ok, but raw, not yet!!!
