Oats Apple Phirni | Low Calorie Phirni recipe | Under 10-mins Dessert

I had bookmarked this recipe from Tarladalal's cookbook long back and wanted to try this for a super-delicious Low-calorie dessert. Today being the last in Low-Calorie recipe series, this Oats Apple Phirni would be a perfect choice. Kids and we adults too loved the Apple-Oats combo and the best thing is that I didn't add sugar or any other sweetener at all. Nevertheless, the Phirni turned out so yummy. Crunchy bits of Almonds and some pomegranate seeds added to the richness.

Preparation time - 5mins
Cooking time -  7mins
Serves - 4

Ingredients:-

Quick cooking Oats - 1cup, coarsely ground
Apple, unpeeled & grated - 1cup
Low-fat / Skimmed milk -2 & 1/2cups
Almond, slivered - As needed
Pomegranate seeds - For garnish

Method:-

1.  Before heading on to cooking, coarsely pulse the Oats and keep ready.

2.  In a wide pan, bring milk to a rolling boil and add the ground Oats to it.

3.  Let it simmer for about 4-5mins so that the milk gets slightly reduced and the mixture thickens. Switch off the stove.

4.  Add the grated apple and almond bits and mix gently.

Garnish with Pomegranate seeds and serve warm or cold. This Oats Apple Phirni comes as a quick fix for sudden sweet cravings. Enjoy!
