Hara Bara Kabab | North Indian Starter | Healthy Starter Recipe

Hara Bara Kabab is a popular North Indian Starter which is packed with the goodness of Iron-rich Spinach and Peas. 'Hara' in Hindi means 'Green'. This Kebab got its name and the attractive green colour from the Spinach and green peas that goes into it. It can be made healthier if we choose to shallow fry in very little oil instead of deep-frying. In this recipe, I did'nt grind the blanched Spinach together with peas and chilli. I think I should have done that so as to achieve that perfect green Kebabs as we have in Restaurants. So, do feel free to try that variation and enjoy this guilt-free snack at home!

Gobi 65 Restaurant Style | North Indian Starter

Gobi or Cauliflower 65 is a popular North-Indian Starter and I had thought its difficult to attain that Restaurant-style taste and hence never gave it a try. But this week's theme is about Starters and Gobi-65 is our family favourite as well. So, made up my mind to give it a go. To my surprise, with such an easy recipe and simplest of ingredients, it turned out so well like we had tasted in Restaurants except that deep red colour and attractive look, induced by artificial colour.I personally tend to avoid artificial colours or flavours to the extent possible, so we really did'nt mind about the way it looked. In fact, this Golden brown crisps were just as tempting. Blanched cauliflower florets marinated in a spicy batter for 2-3hrs is essential to get perfect Restaurant-style Gobi-65. Other than the resting time, there is'nt any complicated steps involved. So, do try this wonderful appetizer and enjoy!

Paneer Tikka | How to do Paneer Tikka in Oven | North-Indian Starters

Hi friends, it's a pleasure to catch up with you all through this lovely Blogging world, after quite a long time. Due to some professional and personal commitments, couldn't devote time for this passion of mine. With things settled in place now, Iam happy to come back with my most favourite event, the Blogging Marathon run by Srivalli.

For this week, my theme is 'North Indian Party Starters' and I would be sharing some interesting dishes. Today, its gonna be the preparation with one of everybody's fav - Paneer. Whenever we dine out, we surely would order a starter and kids love to have this Paneer Tikka most often. I have referred to several sites online to know the authentic Tandoori Paneer Tikka recipe and adapted to suit our taste-buds.The only difference is that, as I don't have a Tandoor, I sought out to bake in the Oven. It came out really well. Soft and succulent Marinated Paneer baked to perfection is pure heaven. Why not try Paneer Tikka at home so that its lot more healthier than at Restaurants?

Navratan Korma | Navratna Kurma Recipe | Side-dish for Indian Breads

Today's post is very special to me. After I got introduced to this lovely Blogging Marathon group, this is the first celebration Iam taking part in. We are celebrating one of our dear friend Sapana's virtual Baby Shower today and we BM friends have planned to cook from her blog and post it today to share the joy and this special moment with her. Sapana, Here's wishing you the very best with your pregnancy and delivery. Hope your world will now be filled with more smiles and happiness. May you be blessed with great health and a safe and smooth delivery.

Presenting this popular Mughlai side-dish recipe which got its name (Navratan means 'nine gems) from nine rich veggies, fruit and nuts cooked in a delicious, creamy gravy. However, there is no strict rule to this number. As long as the base recipe for gravy is perfect, you can play around with veggies of your choice to create this exotic 'Navratan Korma'. There is cream, yoghurt, a yummy paste made with nuts and seeds and paneer, all of which makes this gravy extremely luscious and royal, suitable for parties or guests.

Restaurant Style Dal makhani | How to make Punjabi Dal Makhani | Gourmet Gravy recipe | North-Indian recipes

Dal Makhani, also known as 'Maa ki Dal' is an exotic Punjabi delicacy, which is prepared by cooking whole Urad dal and Rajma bean on a low flame for a long time,is a perfect accompaniment for Roti / Naan. The process of slow cooking lends it a unique flavour together with the Makhani (butter/cream) added at the end. However, by using a Pressure cooker, cooking time is significantly reduced to less than an hour, yet this recipe yields just as rich and yummy Dal Mahkani as the traditional one. This recipe is loaded with calories and it is definitely an occasional indulgence. However, I shall share the best Low-fat version of this Gourmet gravy soon. Come, lets bring the Restaurant richness to our kitchen too!
