Masala Papad is a very easy yet delicious fat-free snack and a great appetizer. When I think of Accompaniments served in Restaurants, this was the first one which flashed in my mind. Toasted Papad is topped with veggies and a dash of Chaat Masala and lemon juice which can be enjoyed anytime without any guilt. Though the Papad can either be fried or toasted on direct flame or Microwave, I always choose the latter option so as to keep it healthy. Pile on a lots of your favourite veggies and there you are with a filling snack within a couple of munites. Try this and you will enjoy for sure!
Preparation time : 10mins
Toasting time - 1min per Papad
Papad - As required (I use Lijjat Papad - plain or pepper flavour)
Veggies of your choice - 1cup altogether, very finely chopped
(Use carrot, Red and Green Capsicum, deseeded Tomato, onion and Cucumber)
Coriander leaves - 1/4cup, packed, finely chopped
Green chilli - 1, grated or finely chopped
Lemon juice - 1/2tblsp
Chaat Masala - 1-2tsp
Black Salt - As needed
Method:-
1. While preparing the veggies, Microwave 2-3 papads until crispy and keep it ready.
2. In a bowl, mix all the veggies with Black salt, Chaat Masala and a squeeze of lemon and lots of coriander leaves.
3. Make sure you assemble the Masala papad just before serving. When you are ready to serve, spread the topping evenly on crisp Papad, garnish with some coriander leaves and a sprinkle of Chaat Masala and plate it. Done!
